Admission to the Exhibition Grounds zum Seitenanfang

Visitors require an "entrance pass" to enter the Hannover Exhibition Grounds—the world's largest—at any of the 24 entrances. An Entrance Pass is a small, purchased card, that entitles the holder for one-day or all-days admission to the exhibition. Passes are inserted into the automated turn-styles at the entrances. Visitors have access to the grounds from 09:00 a.m. until 06:00 p.m. each day. If you intend to leave the grounds and return the same day, you must check-in with the gate supervisor before exiting. Only holders of "all-days" passes may leave and re-enter on the same day. Entrance Passes to the majority of international fairs in Hannover can be purchased from Co-Mar Management Services.

Exhibitors also require passes to enter the exhibition grounds during the run of the show. A quantity of Exhibitor Passes are provided free of charge to all registered exhibitors, based on the stand size. Additional passes can be purchased by exhibitors using their Service Binder. Exhibitors have access to the halls from 07:00 a.m. each day during the run of the show. Exhibitors may be asked to show their passes to Security Personnel upon entering their specific hall. No passes are required during set-up and tear-down.

Air Travel zum Seitenanfang

Major Canadian airports offer non-stop flights to Germany via the main hubs of Frankfurt and Munich with a connection to Hannover. The Hannover Airport offers service to and from most major German and European cities such as Amsterdam, London, Paris and Zurich. Airport to Exhibition Grounds zum Seitenanfang

Our travel partner, The Traveldesk can pre-arrange a shuttle service pick-up for you, or you can hail a taxi at the stand just outside of the arrivals area of the Hannover/Langenhagen Airport. If you prefer public transit, you can take the S-Bahn number 5 from the airport to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) and then transfer to the U-Bahn (line 8 or 18 direction Messe Nord) that will take you directly to the Nord 1 or Nord 2 entrance of the fairgrounds.

Note: Some special buses and trains run during CeBIT and the HANNOVER FAIR. We recommend you consult the visitor brochure or the website for these two events, for special transportation services during these shows.

Bills come in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000; coins are available in € 1 and € 2 as well as 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents.Cash is the preferred method of payment, though travellers’ cheques and major credit cards are accepted at nearly all larger hotels and stores. To avoid lines at an airport or a rail station, consider exchanging a small amount of money into Euros before you leave Canada. For your convenience, there are also banks located on the fairgrounds.

Daily Commuting zum Seitenanfang

Our travel partner, The Traveldesk, can arrange for a daily shuttle service to and from the show. You can hail a taxi at the north, south and west entrances to the fairgrounds; at any taxi stand throughout the city; or by calling a taxi service for pick-up. For public transportation, use the U-Bahn (lines 8 and 18 run to the Nord 1 and Nord 2 entrances; lines 6 and 16 run to the Ost 3 entrance) or S-Bahn number 5. Your hotel or landlord can direct you to the nearest stop for each.

The Exhibition Grounds are located 10 miles from the centre of Hannover in the southern suburb of Laatzen (roughly a 20-minute ride on the U-Bahn from the city centre). The German word for fair is “Messe”. The Exhibition Grounds are called “Messegelände” in German.

Internet Access for Visitors zum Seitenanfang

Visitors can access the Internet ( via analogue modem / digital ISDN (S0) / LAN or WLAN ) for email downloads, etc. on a user-pay basis at the Internet Lounge on the exhibiton grounds. In addition "Mobile and Mail" a public Wireless LAN operated by Deutsche Telekom and Deutsche Messe AG enables users to access the Internet via their own devices (you require an activated WLAN card in your device and an Internet browser) using a pre-paid value card or post-paid billing systems ( credit card / mobile operators via roaming agreements etc. ). Designated access points are located in all halls.

The Fairgrounds offer parking facilities for 45,000 cars. During CeBIT traffic to the fairgrounds can be heavy, so leave yourself extra time if travelling by car.

You can buy train tickets in advance through any U.S. travel agent or the Deutsche Bahn website, or at a Deutsche Bahn office at any German airport or train station. During large events such as CeBIT and HANNOVER FAIR some ICE (Inter City Express) trains stop at the Hannover-Laatzen train station which is adjacent to the fairgrounds. You can cut your commute by 30 minutes if you exit at Hannover-Laatzen instead of Hannover's main train station (Hauptbahnhof).
