On-time delivery of freight is one of the most important aspects of a successful show. Don't risk having your exhibit materials arrive late -- or not at all -- by using a shipper without international trade show experience.
-
Involve your freight forwarder early and maintain constant communications.
-
Compare the cost of shipping your own stand (booth) versus the cost of renting a shell-scheme or building on-site.
-
Discuss requirements, costs and deadlines with your freight forwarder well in advance.
-
Prepare early to take advantage of consolidated shipments.
A little homework, staring early and using an experienced forwarder will ensure your exhibits arrive on time.
Co-Mar Management Services recommends TWI Exhibition Logistics. TWI is recognized around the globe as North America's foremost international tradeshow logistics company. For many of the international trade fairs in Hannover, Co-Mar arranges a consolidated shipment for exhibitors’ good with TWI Group Inc. TWI has a relationship with Schenker (one of the appointed on-site drayage companies) and can offer a “seamless” shipment of your goods to the show floor. For more information and tips on shipping overseas, please visit TWI Group’s website or contact TWI at the co-ordinates below:

Shipping and handling of display products from your company plant or other source, to and from the exhibition site in Hannover, is the exhibitor’s responsibility. In addition, charges for customs, duties, storage of empty crates/boxes/suitcases during the show, are also the exhibitor's responsibility. Empties cannot be stored in your stand (booth) or the Canadian Pavilions (group stands).
You should discuss an exact time of delivery to your booth, so that one of your staff members is present to accept delivery. Make sure your freight is not left unattended during both set-up and breakdown. These two periods present the highest risk for theft. Neither Co-Mar Management Services, nor Deutsche Messe AG can assume any liability for your freight, at any time.
Of course, you are free to choose any forwarder to move your goods to Hannover, Germany. However, your forwarder must interface with the on-site drayage companies, appointed by show management, in order to deliver goods to your stand (including courier packages). Confirmed exhibitors will find additional information on shipping in the Technical Regulations for their specific show.
We often receive questions from Canadian companies about sending material to a registered exhibitor participating in one of the fairs in Hannover. Usually the Canadian company is a subsidiary or wishes to send material to a European partner to use during the exhibition. Make sure your shipment is correctly addressed using the example below:
To: Full Name, c/o Company name
(Name of group exhibit if applicable)
Hall Number -- Stand Number ---
Show Name e.g. CeBIT HANNOVER 2004
D-30521 Hannover
Germany
Discuss the required delivery time with the courier company and confirm how long the shipment will take to clear customs and be delivered. Keep in mind that courier deliveries to Europe can take between 5-7 business days.
If the quantity of material to be shipped is large, we recommend contacting TWI for quotes and shipping instructions.
If you have any questions about shipping your goods to the Hannover Exhibition Grounds, contact our office at info@hf-canada.com or contact TWI Group Inc.
