Marked growth in exhibitor and visitor numbers
Halls packed with visitors, stands bursting with new ideas—LIGNA+ 2007 impressed in every way. The tradeshow once more proved its worth as a powerful catalyst for growth in the sector and as an ideal platform for networking and knowledge sharing. This year’s show attracted 1,832 companies from 49 countries; 56.1 % of the total exhibitors came from outside Germany. Overall visitor numbers were up by 11,000 to total 107,000 trade professionals with 44.6% coming from abroad. The top ten countries for visitor attendance included Italy and Austria and also Canada and the USA.
Canadians Figure Prominently
Once again, Canadians figured prominently at LIGNA+ HANNOVER 2007, with a very satisfied exhibitor contingent. Exhibiting companies included: Carmanah Design and Manufacturing; Coe Newnes/McGehee; Conception R.P.; Gilbert Products, Hermany Opto Electronics; Interwrap; MPM Sales, RAD Technologies and Sapon Installation Services. Conception R.P.’s exhibit is pictured, right. Canada and USA accounted for approximately 4500 attendees, up from 3400 in 2005—an increase of 1100—a clear indication that LIGNA+ is an extremely important event for the North American woodworking industry.
